Product Update

Production: November 02, 2023​

This Product Update provides a summary of changes and enhancements to the existing application that impact all customers. When applicable, it includes changes to functionality that were made to resolve customer-specific issues and that apply to all Tenovos users. Product Updates occur frequently and are separate from Release Notes.

Unless otherwise stated, the availability of each update is as follows:

  • UAT: November 01, 2023
  • Production: November 02, 2023
  • Availability: All customers

The Targeted Search feature which was released in Beta during Q2 is now generally available to all customers. This feature is no longer hidden from non-Beta testers and is now part of the standard Tenovos UI in all environments.

Metadata Attribute Tooltips​

The Tooltips feature which was released in Beta during Q3 is now generally available to all customers. This feature is no longer hidden from non-Beta testers and is now part of the standard Tenovos UI in all environments. Additionally, a future update will add tooltips to the metadata view on the Asset Details page.

Tenovos REST API v1.5​

This update provides API Performance updates to internal beta Feature Flag customers. This update is being leveraged internally by the Tenovos Services team to test performance enhancements to existing integrations. The plan for rolling out this update is as follows:

  • Internal Services Team
  • External Partners managing customer integrations
  • Story Link
  • Customer Rollout

All Tenovos REST API Endpoints will remain unchanged. All methods, requests, and responses are identical to the versions prior to 1.5. Prior to customer rollout, a separate announcement will be made. In addition, the Tenovos Developer Portal will be updated to support multiple versions, and v1.5 will be listed separately with the connection changes needed in order to use it. The only change necessary to use v1.5 will be a change to the base URL. Additionally, passing the clientId on authentication requests is optional.

This update provides significant performance enhancements, with an overall average of nearly 400% faster response times. Enjoy the v1.5 performance boost while we continue to work on the fully new version 2.0.

API Version 2.0 Documentation

You may have noticed Tenovos has released an early preview of API v2 documentation! These documents are also available on the Tenovos Developer Portal. From the left side menu, click Tenovos API to expose the version drop down.

Please provide feedback on the v2.0 changes via the Tenovos Ideas Portal.

Version 2.0 of the API will introduce breaking changes.

Documentation and support for all v1.x endpoints will continue, with an anticipated end-of-life in July 2025.

Search Enhancements​

This update introduces improvements to how Technical Metadata is searched. Previously, search matches on Technical Metadata also accounted for matches on the attribute names within Technical Metadata, such as 'Creator Tool' and 'Exif Tool Version Number'. Search matches on Technical Metadata will now only match on actual values.

For customers using the Search Relevancy Beta Feature Flag, additional search enhancements are included in this update:

  • Searches on Filenames no longer need to include the file extension to find a match.
  • Searches on Filenames are now completely case-insensitive.
  • Filenames containing underscores and other special characters will no longer negatively impact search results.

Other Enhancements & Quality Improvements​

  • Resolved an issue where replacing the preview of a document asset caused the new preview to render on the Asset Detail page rather than the document. Users with the PDF Preview permission will now see the full document even when the preview has been replaced with an image.
  • Resolved an issue causing multi-select drop downs in metadata edit views to become cut off.
  • Updated the descriptions of Role Privileges to address grammatical errors and be more descriptive.
  • Resolved an issue where a disabled user's session was not immediately terminated.
  • Resolved an issue causing assets with multiple security templates which should result in auto-approval to not be automatically approved.
